President Ruto nominates Kipchumba Murkomen as CS for Interior
Kipchumba Murkomen has been moved from the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports to the Ministry of Interior and National Administration in new cabinet changes.
In a statement by Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei on Thursday, December 19, Murkomen was listed among two CSs who were reassigned to new ministries by President William Ruto.
Following the new development, the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports will now be headed by Salim Mvurya who was moved from the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry (MITI).
Meanwhile, Ruto has nominated Mutahi Kagwe to serve as Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development.
Additionally, former Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has been nominated as Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade, and Industry, while former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has been nominated as Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy.

Ruto also made key diplomatic appointments with Margaret Nyambura Ndung’u nominated as High Commissioner to Ghana and Ababu Namwamba as the Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Office in Nairobi (UNON).
On the other hand, Dorothy Angote has been nominated as High Commissioner to Zimbabwe, and Andrew Karanja as Ambassador to Brazil.
Ruto also made appointments to key state corporations with Ndiritu Muriithi appointed Chairperson of the Kenya Revenue Authority and Anthony Mwaura as Chairperson of the Kenya Rural Roads Authority.
Kembi Gitura had also been nominated as Chairperson of the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral, and Research Hospital.
