Ruto makes changes to Cabinet, nominates Mutahi Kagwe and Kabogo for CS positions

President William Ruto has nominated former Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe and former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo to the Cabinet.
In a despatch on Thursday, December 19, by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, President Ruto nominated Kagwe as the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Kabogo as the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications, and Digital Economy.
The Head of State also nominated former Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui as the Cabinet Secretary for Trade.
At the same time, he reassigned Salim Mvurya, Cabinet Secretary for Trade, to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Also reassigned in the changes by the President is Sports Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, who will now move to the Interior docket, which was left vacant by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.
Further, President Ruto nominated ICT Cabinet Secretary Margaret Ndung’u as Kenya’s High Commissioner to Ghana and her Agriculture counterpart Andrew Karanja as Kenya’s Ambassador to Brazil.

Meanwhile, former Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has returned to government after being nominated by the President as Kenya’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON).
Similarly, the President appointed former Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi as the Chairperson of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Board, KRA Chairman Anthony Mwaura as the Chairperson of the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) Board, and former Senate Deputy Speaker Kembi Gitura as the Chairperson of the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral, and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) Board.
“The president has transmitted the nominations of Cabinet Secretaries, High Commissioners, Ambassadors and Permanent Representatives to the National Assembly for consideration and approval by Parliament in fulfilment of the legal requirements set out under our nation’s supreme law,” Koskei stated.
