Scores feared dead after passenger bus collides with trailer in Malindi
Several people feared dead and others severely injured after a passenger bus collided head-on with a trailer.
At least two people have died and several others were seriously injured in a fatal road accident in Taru, Kwale County.
The accident happened on the morning of Sunday, December 24.
According to sources, the ill-fated bus en route to Malindi from Nairobi crashed with the truck at a spot in the Taru area of Kwale county.
Red Cross Kenya established that 19 people sustained serious injuries.
The casualties were rushed to the nearby Samburu Sub-County Hospital.

“19 injured individuals have been taken to Samburu Sub County Hospital in Kwale thanks to the County Ambulance services and the generosity of well-wishers,” said the Red Cross in an X update.
Lydia Mambo, the area OCPD, verified the tragic occurrence, stating that the two vehicles collided head-on, resulting in the immediate deaths of the two individuals.
“Two people have died and several others were rushed to hospital,” she said.
According to the OCPD, the two vehicles were speeding and lost control.
