Several students were among the passengers who were involved in a road accident on Kikima-Machakos road.
This was after the vehicle they were traveling on Monday, May 13 lost control and rolled severally at Kwa Mbisu, Nthungoni area in Makueni County.
The passengers were rushed to Mbooni Sub County Hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.
However, there were no fatalities that had been confirmed from the accident at the time of reporting.

The accident happened when students were going back to school after an extended holiday due to floods that were experienced in the country.
Kwa Mbisu area is a known hotspot in the area with 12 people having lost their lives at the exact spot a few months ago.

The accident comes even as the National Transport Safety Authority (NTSA) urged drivers to proceed with caution during this school opening season.
This is due to the heavy downpour experienced in almost every part of the country that rendered most roads slippery and impassable.
Additionally, NTSA launched a nationwide crackdown with the aim of impounding unroadworthy vehicles, especially school buses.
According to NTSA, 7,198 Kenyans lost their lives in the first four months of 2024 with the majority being pedestrians.
