The EACC established that Malanda had demanded Sh 200,000 from a trader as a kickback before approving payment of his Sh 1.8 million after he supplied ECD Certificates to the county government.

During the arrest, the Sh 400,000 was found in her office; she could not explain how she acquired the money.
