Police launch investigations a woman found dead in a 3-bedroom house in Kahawa West.
Police in Nairobi are searching for a man suspected of killing his lover in Kahawa West.
Lilian Achieng’s body was found in a pool of blood on the floor of their three-bedroom house in the area; stab wounds were visible on the body.
The police, in their preliminary probe, identified the suspect as George Mutegi.
Mutegi fled the scene after the killing and switched off his phone; a kitchen knife believed to have been used in the murder was recovered at the scene.
The body of the woman was ferried to the Kenyatta Memorial Funeral Home as investigations into the murder gained momentum.
On top of the investigations are detectives stationed at the Kasarani Police Station.
The incident came a day after President William Ruto urged members of the public to be careful with strangers following the rise of femicide cases in the country.
Speaking on Friday, October 1, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), President Ruto urged Kenyans to be vigilant against individuals who lure women with harmful intentions.

The Head of State further called on investigative agencies to deal with the perpetrators firmly and decisively.
“Of recent, we have seen incidences of our girls and mothers who have been murdered in cold blood. The DCI and all investigative authorities must stand up to these criminals and we must deal decisively and firmly.
“And I want to ask us as a society to be careful with strangers and people who lure our girls into situations that compromise their security. But we must be on the lookout, all of us as a nation,” President Ruto remarked.
His remarks come after the National Police Service (NPS) disclosed that several suspects have been arrested and others arraigned in court regarding femicide cases.
Speaking to the press on October 30, Deputy Inspector General Kenya Police Service Eliud Lagat noted that 97 cases of femicide have been reported in the last three months.
