CS nominee Aden Duale lauds Ruto, vows to fulfill his mandate as he makes it back to the list of nominated Cabinet Secretaries.

Former Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale on Friday commended President William Ruto following his nomination for the position of Defence Minister.

Taking to his X account, Duale stated the nomination was a reflection of the President and the Kenyans’ profound trust and confidence in his ability to advance the nation’s agenda.

According to the former CS, he was ready to fulfil his fresh mandate in bolstering the national security of Kenya and contribute to its greatness. 

Duale further exuded confidence in facing the National Assembly’s committee for vetting and public scrutiny.

“Am ready and willing to present myself to the National Assembly’s relevant committee for vetting and public scrutiny. Quran (2:152): “So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me,” Duale remarked.

“I extend my deepest gratitude to H.E. President William Ruto for nominating me as Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Defence,” he added.

Duale’s sentiments come hardly an hour after President Ruto announced the nomination of 11 individuals for vetting as cabinet secretaries.

Ruto retained six Cabinet Secretaries who served in the recently dismissed cabinet.

The six include; Kithure Kindiki (Ministry of Interior), Aden Duale (Ministry Defence) Davis Chirchir (Ministry of Transport and Roads), Soipan Tuya (Ministry of Environment), and Alice Wahome (Lands and Public Works).

Rebecca Miano who previously served as the Cabinet Secretary for Trade has been nominated as the new Attorney General.
