Kapsaret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has come to the defence of President William Ruto following criticism from catholic bishops including Nyeri Archbishop Anthony Muheria.
In a statement dated Thursday, November 14, Ruto’s ally accused the bishop of double speaking.
According to Sudi, Meheria did not have the moral authority to call out the current administration given that he did not extend much criticism to the past administration.
“Muheria lacks the moral authority to criticise the current regime because he is akin to doublespeak,” he claimed.
“The cleric is on record for backing the past regime even when it was clear it had failed Kenyans and must be bold enough to steer away from tribal politics.”

Sudi made the remarks hours after the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) called out the Ruto regime over its unfulfilled promises.
The men on the cloth expressed that the government had adopted a culture of lies given the numerous promises that were yet to be kept.
“The culture of lies is swiftly replacing the integrity and respect that Kenyans deserve. Basically, it is seen that the truth does not exist and if it does, it is what the government says,” read the statement by the clergy in part.
On the other hand, Muheria, in the last few weeks has been vocal in criticizing the current administration over the new Social Health Authority.
“With the shift of NHIF to SHIF, we don’t seem to have had that thought of the sick, people who die because they can’t get services,” Muheria remarked in his past address.
