Babu Owino claims DCI planning to arrest him
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino now claims DCI wants to arrest him after a post on activist Bob Njagi.
Embakasi East Member of Parliament has on Friday alleged that the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) was hatching a plan to arrest him.
In a post, the MP alleged that he had received intelligence detectives would arrest him later in the day before proceeding to dare the sleuths to go ahead with the plan.
” Leo niko na date na wife lakini nimeskia DCI is planning to arrest me( I have a date with my wife today, but I’ve heard DCI is planning to have me arrested).” the MP wrote.
His revelations come just hours after the MP had alleged that abducted activist Bob Njagi had been assassinated in a post that has since been deleted.
Hours after his allegations, Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo revealed that Bob Njagi was free and alive.
Odhiambo revealed that Bob presented himself at the Tigoni Police Station after he was ostensibly dumped around the area by his abductors.
“At around 1 am Bob Njagi managed to find his way to Tigoni Police Station and for assistance. He is alive and well,” Odhiambo said.
According to Babu Owino, his allegations were a strategy that led to the missing Kitengela 3 being found alive.

“Bob Njagi and the Longton brothers were released today at 4 a.m. So the Strategy has worked perfectly well. Akili wenzangu. The only strategy to fight a Government is by removing gloves”, Babu Owino wrote.
The Free Kenya Movement coordinator Bob Njagi, Jamil Longton (42), and Aslam Longton (36) were abducted in Kitengela a month ago.
The Langton brothers were also found alive dumped at the Gachie border of Kiambu and Nairobi by their captors.
If he is indeed arrested, this will not be the first time the MP will be apprehended. In July 2023 DCI officers arrested Babu Owino at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) while he was jetting back to the country.
ODM leaders alleged that Owino was arrested because of his active role in Azimio protests which at the time had hit a fever pitch as the opposition rallied Kenyans to demonstrate against the high cost of living among other issues.
