High Court Judge throws lawyer Dastan Omari out of abductions case hearing
Lawyer Danstan Omari was Wednesday ordered out of a court hearing the case filed against security chiefs and criminal justice system agencies on the abduction of youths.
Justice Bahati Mwamuye ordered Omari to leave his court after the city lawyer sought to interject when another advocate was on his feet.
Omari is representing Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen who is listed as the fifth respondent in the case.
He interjected after LSK lawyer Evans Ogada made an oral application to stop the hearing until Police IG Douglas Kanja avails himself in court.
The court had ordered Kanja to be personally present for the hearing.
The judge told Omari not to interject until his colleague had concluded his presentation.
And when Omari rose to speak in reply, the judge stopped him and ordered him out of the courtroom.
“Mr Omari, you can take your leave,” Mwamuye said.
There was some silence as Omari remained standing inside the courtroom.
“Just so that I am clear, the order is for Mr Omari to leave my court,” the judge said.

Omari then asked to be allowed to remain and follow the proceedings but the court declined.
“I have ensured your party is represented by counsel Samson Nyaberi and there would be no prejudice suffered,” the judge said.
Omari left the court with the judge saying he remains suspended for the day’s proceedings.
Lawyer Paul Nyamodi who is representing Kanja said both the IG and DCI were prepared to attend court but could not do so as a serious security situation that required their urgent attention arose.
