Raila Odinga warmly welcomes President Ruto at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) during the Africa Fertiliser and Soil Health Summit in Nairobi.

The former Prime Minister was among the dignitaries who attended the event that was graced by Ruto.

Over six African heads of state and government were present.

Heads of state present at the event included Central African Republic president Faustin-Archange Touadéra, Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera from Malawi, Hakainde Hichilema from Zambia, Emmerson Mnangagwa from Zimbabwe, Nangolo Mbumba from Namibia and Burundi Prime Minister Gervais Ndirakobuca.

The current AUC chair, Moussa Faki, was also present at the event.

Speaking in Embakasi South during food donations to flood victims, Raila bashed the current cabinet secretaries, saying they were not fit to hold the positions they are occupying.

He cited certain Cabinet Secretaries whom he alleged had underperformed and let down the Kenyan populace.

Raila further blamed President Ruto for allegedly appointing an incompetent cabinet and failing to provide leadership.

Raila’s unexpected criticism of Ruto’s administration attracted responses from Kenya Kwanza Alliance leaders and supporters.

Some asked the president to reconsider supporting the former prime minister in the African Union Commission (AUC) chairmanship position.
