Kalonzo Musyoka exudes confidence that his Wiper party will form the next government in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at Tseikuru in Kitui County on Thursday, Kalonzo said he would ensure stalled projects in the county are completed.

“I informed them that I would follow up on the blocked projects alongside local leaders, including the county governor,” Kalonzo said.

“I also encouraged them to continue supporting the Wiper Party which will form the next government in 2027.”

He said that the residents had raised the problem of stalled infrastructure projects, such as roads and dams.

The Wiper leader was in the county to visit the family of his former assistant Katu Munuvi who passed on earlier in the week.

Kalonzo eulogized him as a wonderful man and very dedicated to his craft.

“I respected and relied on him. I assured Munuvi’s family of my continued commitment to them not just during the mourning period, but beyond. May Katu Munuvi rest in peace,” Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo made the remarks after he recently vowed to run for president in 2027, whether backed by his ally Raila Odinga or not.

Speaking to a local media house, Kalonzo said he has been ready for the top seat since 2002 when the opposition declared support for retired President the late Mwai Kibaki.

Despite declaring his candidature, Kalonzo said the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition will engage in “full consultation” before announcing their formation in 2027.

Kalonzo promised that he would not part ways with Raila in 2027, despite both of them indicating that they will run for president.

“I know Raila Odinga, he knows me. We will go the same way. We will go the same route with Raila Odinga unless some devil intervenes, you never know. This relationship is really tested,” he added.

He said, however, that sacrificing his ambitions for the presidency in 2027 will mean going home.

“Giving up my ambitions will actually mean I go home. We are at the tail-end of a process which should deliver this country,” he added.

According to the Wiper leader, giving up his ambitions is not an option.
