American billionaire Bill Gates has exuded confidence in his resolve to comprehensively tackle the perennial health problems affecting Kenyan children.
In his latest report, the US billionaire, through his Gates Foundation announced the decision to come up with strategies to end the menace which he noted affected millions of children not only in Kenya but also across the globe.
Gates stated that he decided to come up with a more nutritious food system in a bid to lower the malnutrition rate and improve health outcomes.
According to Bill Gates, no global health problem requires a larger-scale solution than malnutrition.
In his publication, Gates noted that one of the strategies he used to reduce health problems among Kenyan children include; improving dairy productivity and supply.
“Others help farmers produce more high-quality forage or repurpose crop waste for nutritious cow feed. As a result, Kenyan cows are now producing 6 to 10 times more milk than before,” Bill Gates noted.
“We are unlocking new ways of using it to increase micronutrients in the food found in pantries all over the world,” he added.
Gates further disclosed that the immense efforts he placed to end the health problem could save up to 109 million kids across five countries including Kenya, Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, and Tanzania by 2050.

The billionaire also insisted on plans to accelerate measures taken by the United States and Switzerland such as selling iodized salt in most food outlets.
Following the immense progress recorded over the past few years, Bill Gates pledged to contribute more to the Child Nutrition Fund to enable access to nutritious food by Kenyan children.
In November 2022, Bill Gates announced plans by the Gates Foundation to set up a regional office in Nairobi. According to the businessman, the regional office would expand and enhance the Foundation’s work in healthcare, agriculture and Information Technology in Kenya.
While commenting on the decision, President William Ruto commended the foundation for its work and impact in Kenya.
“We appreciate the Gate’s Foundation support for crucial initiatives in Kenya’s Health, Agriculture and ICT sectors. We look forward to more collaboration on food security and universal health coverage,” Ruto stated.
