A five-year old girl electrocuted to death in hospital in Uyawi sub-county, Siaya county.
According to police report, the little girl was struck to death by a lying wire in the hospital.
Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kiamiyo confirmed the incident adding that the five-year old who has been identified as Roseline Awuor is said to have been struck by the electricity wire that was lying along the perimeter wall of the hospital’s fence.
Locals tried to rescue her to the same facility where she was declared dead according to reports.

The incident promped police officers and Kenya Power officers from Bondo to rush to the scene where they found a cow that had also been electrocuted, lying dead at the perimeter fence next to the gate of the said hospital.
Police said the faulty line was later identified and disconnected.
He asked members of the public to always be cautious to prevent such calamities, adding that poorly installed electricity cables should be reported immediately to the concerned agency or the police for quick intervention.
