Ruto appoints Isaac Mwaura Government Spokesperson following the resignation of Cyrus Oguna.

President William Ruto has appointed former nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura as the official government spokesman.

The appointments which take effect immediately were announced on Wednesday evening by the Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.

Mwaura had earlier been appointed as Chief Administrative Secretary at the office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary.

The position of Government Spokesperson has remained vacant for a year following the resignation of Cyrus Oguna in October 2022.

Oguna left the position after serving for two years to join Siaya County Government as Chief of Staff.

Wednesday’s appointments also follow the reshuffle of the government that saw key cabinet secretaries moved as Ruto moved to restructure his cabinet.
