Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago has dismissed reports circulating on social media that he is planning to start a recruitment agency

Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago has dismissed reports circulating on social media that he is planning to start a recruitment agency.

For the better part of Tuesday, September 17, a poster had been circulating on social media platforms indicating that the Senator was planning to launch a recruitment agency.

According to the poster, the purported international recruitment agency would have been dealing in international job placements.

However, in an update on his official X page, Mandago has dismissed the claims terming them as propaganda.

“Treat the below post as a propaganda with an ill intention,” the Senator said.

This comes a year after Mandago was arrested for his involvement in the Finland and Canada Overseas Education Programme that saw parents lose over Ksh 1.1 billion.

On August 16, 2023, the former UasinGishu Governor was arrested at his residence in Eldoret and taken to the DCI regional office in Nakuru.

Mandago and three other officials face multiple charges including conspiracy to steal and abuse of office.

According to court documents, he allegedly signed a Memorandum of Understanding with foreign universities without the necessary approval from the county assembly.

During court proceedings, it was revealed that Mandago had traveled abroad in 2021 with county officials to facilitate the program. Still, many involved expressed confusion about their roles and the legitimacy of the trip.
