TSC appoints new Vice Chairperson

Teachers Service Commission (TSC), on Saturday, May 22, announced the appointment of Certified Secretary (CS) Sharon Kisire as its new Vice Chairperson.

​The Teachers Service Commission (TSC), on Saturday, May 22, announced the appointment of Certified Secretary (CS) Sharon Kisire as its new Vice Chairperson.

TSC confirmed that Kisire’s tenure began on May 21, 2026, and will be a six-year non-renewable term. She took over from Leila Abdi, whose term in office ended.

The CS is not new to the Commission, as she has served as a TSC Commissioner since 2021.

“The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced the appointment of CS Sharon J. Kisire, MBS, as the new TSC Vice Chairperson, effective from 21st May 2026.

“​Join us in wishing CS Sharon J. Kisire all the best in her new leadership role!” TSC’s announcement read in part.

Kisire is an experienced Human Resources professional with 20 years in the industry, serving both in the private and public institutions.

She served as a Human Resources Director at the Kenya Wildlife Service ( KWS) for six years before she joined Safaricom as the Director of Resources.

In 2016, the Kenya Pipeline Company appointed Kisire as its General Manager, Resources, where she served for 10 years. The Certified Secretary is the current Head of HR Consulting at Powerhouse HR Consulting.

She is also the current Chairperson of the Human Resource Management Professionals Examinations Board.

The newly appointed TSC Vice Chairperson hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Anthropology and a Master’s of Arts in Criminology, all from Kenyatta University.

Kisire has a postgraduate diploma in Human Resources and holds a Certified Public Secretary (CPS) and CPS (K) certificate from KASNEB.

She is a holder of the  Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS), which she received from President William Ruto in 2023.

In 2009, former President, the late Mwai Kibaki, awarded her the Head of State Commendation (HSC)in recognition of her contribution to Human Resource function and participation in community help projects.
